On or about Tuesday, August 24th, 2021, around 9:17 in the morning, an accident between a car and a dump truck sent a 43-year-old woman to the hospital with serious injuries. Officials said the accident was reported in the 600 block of North Cody Road in LeClaire, Iowa.
Authorities said 43-year-old Megan Marie Wentland was hurt when a rock allegedly tumbled from the bed of a dump truck that had pulled out of a construction zone along North Cody Road. Paramedics rushed Wentland to Genesis Medical Center East before she was airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics by MedForce where she was last reported in critical condition by medical staff.
According to Google Maps, North Cody Road is situated not far from the banks of the Mississippi River, with the scene of the accident situated on the north side of LeClaire.
Officials are still examining the incident.
