On or about Monday, February 7th, 2022, around 8:14 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a moped sent a 27-year-old man to the hospital. Authorities from the area said the accident was reported along Highway 30 near the intersection with East 18th Avenue in Platte County, Nebraska.
Law enforcement spokespeople said 27-year-old Miachael Veenendaal was injured when he was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer while he was driving his moped along Highway 30. Paramedics rushed Veenendaal to nearby Columbus Community Hospital before he was airlifted to a hospital in Lincoln. Medical staff did not release an update on Veenendall’s condition.
According to Google Maps, Ashton is about 76 miles northwest of Lincoln.
Officials are still working to pin down the cause of the accident.
