On or about Wednesday, February 2nd, 2022, around 7:00 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a disabled vehicle left one individual dead. Authorities from the CHP said the accident was reported along the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge on Interstate 580 in Richmond, California.
Police officers said 31-year-old Michael Baroja was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly slammed his disabled vehicle on the Richmond San Rafael Bridge. Paramedics pronounced Baroja dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the accident. The driver of the tractor-trailer was unhurt in the accdient.
According to Google Maps, the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge spans the San Pablo Bay just north of downtown San Francisco.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
