On or about Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021, around 6:18 in the evening, an accident between a USPS truck and a box truck claimed the life of a 59-year-old man. Authorities from the area said the accident was reported at or near the intersection of 52nd Street and McDowell Road in Phoenix, Arizona.

Police said 59-year-old Michael Blanton was killed when a box truck allegedly slammed into the USPS truck he was driving, which was stopped on the side of the road near the intersection of McDowell Road and 52nd Street. Emergency responders pronounced Blanton dead of his injuries when they arrived at the scene of the accident. Officials did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.

According to Google Maps, the intersection of McDowell Road and 52nd Street is situated on the east side of Phoenix.

Authorities are still working to pin down exactly what may have led to the accident.
