On or about February 23rd, 2022, sometime in the hours after dark, a major accident with a tractor-trailer sent a firefighter to the hospital. Troopers from the KSP said the accident was reported along Interstate 24 in Marshall County, Kentucky.

Representatives from the Kentucky State Police said firefighter Michael Bynum was injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly slammed into the scene of an accident Bynum was tending to along Interstate 24. Emergency responders rushed Bynum to a nearby hospital with major injuries stemming from the accident.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 24 cuts east and west through the northern edge of Marshall County.

Several agencies assisted after the accident.
