Details:
On or about Monday, December 27th, 2021, around 9:00 in the morning, an accident between a box truck and a passenger vehicle claimed the lives of a man and woman from Pittsburgh. State Police said the accident was reported along State Route 28 in North Buffalo Township, Pennsylvania.
Deputies from the Armstrong County Sheriff’s Department said 44-year-old Michael Gargett, and 46-year-old Mara Reilly were killed when the car they were in allegedly struck the back of a box truck on the shoulder of State Route 28. Emergency responders pronounced Gargett and Reilly dead of their injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 36 miles north of downtown Pittsburgh.
Investigators are still trying to pin down the cause of the accident.
