On or about Saturday, October 9th, 2021, around 2:15 in the afternoon, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 60-year-old Harrisburg man. Officials from the ASP said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of Highway 14 in Poinsett County, Arkansas.

Investigators said 60-year-old Michael Hamrick was killed when he was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer as he was walking alongside or trying to cross the lanes of Highway 14. Paramedics pronounced Hamrick dead of his injuries a short time after the accident. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their statement on the incident.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is situated in rural Poinsett County, which is about 123 miles northeast of Little Rock.

Police are still investigating.
