Details:
On or about Tuesday, March 22nd, around 7:00 in the morning, a serious hit-and-run car accident between a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle left one individual dead. Local law enforcement personnel said the accident was reported at or near the intersection of East 42nd Street and North Grandview in Odessa, Texas.
Officials from the OPD said 28-year-old Michael Joe King was killed when he was allegedly struck by a vehicle as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of traffic near East 42nd Street and North Grandview. After the initial accident, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the accident. Paramedics pronounced King dead a short time after the accidnet.
Authorities have since arrested 25-year-old Christy Contreras and charged her with Accident Involving Death in connection with the incident.
Police are still investigating the incident.
