On or about Tuesday, September 14th, 2021, around 3:55 in the morning, a hit-and-run accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer left a 49-year-old Santa Ana man dead. Troopers from the CHP said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Interstate 15 in Corona, California.
Officials from the California Highway Patrol said 49-year-old Michael Pashley was killed when he was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer while he was standing at the scene of a previous collision. The driver of the truck that struck him fled the scene of the incident. Emergency responders pronounced Pashley dead at the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 15 runs north and south through Corona, which is about 47 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
Authorities are still looking for the offending tractor-trailer.
