On or about Friday, March 4th, 2022, around 6:20 in the evening, a major two-vehicle accident left two individuals dead. Spokespeople from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Highway 36 in Burleson County, Texas.
Authorities from the Texas DPS said Roykeisha Burnette and Michael Piper were killed when the vehicles they were in allegedly collided head-on when one of them attempted to pass another vehicle in the oncoming lanes. Emergency responders pronounced Burnette and Piper dead of their injuries a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, Burleson County is about 87 miles northeast of downtown Austin.
Multiple agencies assented after the accident.
