Details:
On or about Saturday, February 19th, 2022, around 2:30 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer left one individual dead. Spokespeople from the Webster County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported at a farm on 390th Street in Gowrie, Iowa.
Law enforcement spokespeople said 27-year-old Michael Pittman was killed when he was allegedly backed over by a tractor-trailer as he was walking near the truck when it began to move. Emergency responders pronounced Pittman dead of his injuries a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, Gowrie is about 79 miles northwest of downtown Des Moines.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
