On or about Wednesday, November 11th, 2020, around 7:35 in the morning, an accident between a car and a box truck claimed the life of a 37-year-old man. Officers said the accident happened along Brooks Mill Road in Franklin County, Virginia.

Virginia State Police said 37-year-old Michael B. Priest was killed when his Honda Civic was allegedly struck head-on by a box truck that crossed over the center line of the road after a collision with a pickup. Priest was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Authorities did not mention any other injuries.

Google Maps shows Brooks Mill Road is two lanes that run north and south through a rural, wooded area. The scene of the accident is located about 31 miles south of Roanoke.

Multiple agencies are assisting in the accident investigation.
