Details:
On or about Saturday, November 20th, 2021, an accident between a pickup truck and an Uber rideshare vehicle claimed the life of a 39-year-old woman and sent a 50-year-old to the hospital. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along the Southwest Freeway near the exchange with Newcastle Drive in Houston, Texas.
Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said 39-year-old Misty Holley was killed, while a 50-year-old was injured when the Uber rideshare vehicle they were in allegedly broke down on the Southwest Freeway when it was rear-ended by a pickup truck. Emergency responders pronounced Holley dead of her injuries following the accident, while the 50-year-old Uber driver was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, the exchange of the Southwest Freeway and Newcastle Drive is situated a short distance southwest of downtown Houston.
Authorities are still investigating the collision.
