Details:
On or about Saturday, October 16th, 2021, around 12:15 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car sent a 37-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl to the hospital. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 349 and Highway 176 in Martin County, Texas.
Law enforcement representatives said Mittalbahen Rajendraku Patel and a 16-year-old girl were injured when the car they were in was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer that failed to yield on Highway 176 as the car was northbound on Highway 349. Paramedics transported Patel to the hospital with injuries of an unknown nature or severity. Officials said the teen suffered possible injuries, but it is not clear if she was treated at the scene or after being taken to a nearby hospital.
Police have since cited the driver of the tractor-trailer with failure to yield and driving with an improper license for type of vehicle in connection with the accident.
According to Google Maps, Martin County is about 102 miles south of Lubbock.
Police are still investigating the accident.
