On or about Friday, July 23rd, 2021, around 5:55 in the evening, an accident between a dump truck and a car claimed the lives of two 68-year-old men. Officials from the VSP said the accident was reported at the intersection of Route 3 and Route 612 in Westmoreland County, Virginia.
Police officers said 68-year-old Mozell Carter and 68-year-old Wardell Carter were killed when their car was allegedly struck by a dump truck at the intersection of Route 612 and Route 3. Emergency responders pronounced Wendell Carter dead of his injuries at the scene, while Mozell Carter was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Route 612 and Route 3 is situated in rural Westmoreland County, which is located roughly 62 miles northeast of Richmond.
Authorities hope to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
