On or about Friday, June 11th, 2021, around 12:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a car and a box truck claimed the lives of two people. Deputies from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 88 and Bath-Edie Road in Hephzibah, Georgia.

Troopers from the GSP said 72-year-old Nancy Marshall and 40-year-old Michael Crawford were killed when the Nissan Altima they were in was allegedly struck by a box truck at the intersection of Bath-Edie Road and Highway 88. Crawford was pronounced dead at the scene, while Marshall was rushed to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries a short time after her arrival.

According to Google Maps, Highway 88 runs east and west through the center of Hephzibah, which is situated on the south side of the Augusta area.

Multiple agencies are investigating the accident.
