On or about Wednesday, April 5th, 2021, around 3:05 in the afternoon, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer left a 69-year-old McGehee woman. Officials from the Drew County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened along Highway 278 in Monticello, Arkansas.
Troopers from the ASP said 69-year-old Nancy White was killed when the eastbound car she was in allegedly crossed into the westbound lanes and collided with a tractor-trailer. Paramedics pronounced White dead of her injuries after the accident. The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured in the accident. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their report.
Highway 278 runs east and west through Monticello, which is about 89 miles southeast of Little Rock, according to Google Maps.
Police hope to release the findings of their investigation as soon as they become available.
