On or about Friday, January 7th, 2022, around 3:34 in the morning, an accident between a passenger vehicle and two tractor-trailers claimed the life of a 24-year-old Mount Gilead man. Officials from the OSHP said the accident was reported along Interstate 71 in Chester Township, Ohio.
Representatives from the Ohio State Highway Patrol said 24-year-old Nathaniel Bowman was killed when the Honda Civic he was driving allegedly veered off the side of Interstate 71 and collided with two parked tractor-trailers a short distance off the roadway. Paramedics pronounced Bowman dead of his injuries when they arrived at the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 26 miles southeast of downtown Cleveland.
Authorities are still working to pin down all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
