On or about Friday, October 23rd, 2020, around 10:00 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car left one person dead and sent two others to the hospital. Police said the accident happened at the intersection of Route 7 and Union Street in Niskayuna, New York.

Investigators said that 18-year-old Naylon Carrington was killed, while 18-year-old Jnaya Williams and a juvenile were injured when the car they were in and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified circumstances. Carrington was taken to the hospital where he died a short time after his arrival. Williams and the juvenile were taken to Albany Medical Center with unknown injuries. The driver of the truck was reportedly unhurt.

Google Maps shows Route 7 is for lanes with a wide, grassy median dividing east and westbound traffic, while Union Street is two lanes that split off from Route 7. Niskayuna is located on the eastern portion of Schenectady.

Police expect to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
