On or about Sunday, July 18th, 2021, around 10:00 at night, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 19-year-old man from Midland. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident occurred along the westbound side of Highway 302 in Ector County, Texas.
Texas DPS Troopers said 19-year-old Nicholas Terrazas was killed when the car he was in allegedly collided with a tractor-trailer that had slowed to turn into a parking lot. Emergency responders pronounced Terrazas dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. Authorities identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as Cesar H. Muela-Acosta, who was unhurt in the collision.
According to Google Maps, Highway 302 runs east and west through Ector County, which is situated a short distance northwest of Odessa.
State and local law enforcement agencies are investigating the accident.
