On or about Saturday, April 2nd, 2022, around 11:20 in the morning, an accident between a motorcycle and a flatbed log truck left a 32-year-old man dead. Officials from the ISP said the accident was reported at the intersection of Broadway and Main Street in Alton, Illinois.
Representatives from the Illinois State Police said 32-year-old Nicholas O. West was killed when the motorcycle he was driving was allegedly hit by a flatbed log truck that was attempting a turn at Broadway and Main. Emergency responders pronounced West dead a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, Alton is about 285 miles southwest of downtown Chicago.
Police are still investigating the accident.
