On or about Tuesday, September 14th, 2021, around 3:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and several other vehicles left a 50-year-old woman dead. Troopers from the NJSP said the accident was reported along the westbound side of Interstate 280 in Essex County, New Jersey.
Officials from the area said 50-year-old Nicole Greco was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly slammed into the back of her car, pushing Greco’s car into several other vehicles. Greco died of her injuries a short time after the accident, while one other driver was treated for unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 280 runs east and west through Essex County, which is about 11 miles northwest of downtown Newark.
State and local law enforcement agencies are investigating the incident.
