On or about Thursday, November 5th, 2020, around 3:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a school bus sent nine students to the hospital. Troopers from the Arkansas State Police said the accident happened at the intersection of U.S. Highway 61 and State Highway 14 in Wilson, Arkansas.

Law enforcement sources said nine students were hurt when the school bus they were on was hit by a tractor-trailer that allegedly failed to yield. Six students were taken to the hospital by ambulance, while three others were taken by private vehicles.

Rivercrest School District officials warned drivers to keep an eye out for their school buses in a public statement.

Arkansas State Police and local law enforcement are still looking into the factors that may have contributed to the crash.
