On or about Wednesday, March 16th, 2022, around 12:00 in the afternoon, a major accident between a passenger vehicle and a dump truck left a 79-year-old woman dead. Officers from the KPD said the accident was reported along the Washington Pike at Steeple Shadow Way in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Officers from the Knoxville Police Department said 79-year-old Norma Norton was killed when the passenger vehicle she was driving was allegedly struck by a dump truck on the Washington Pike. Emergency responders pronounced Norton dead of her injures a short time after the collision.
According to Google Maps, the exchange of Washington Pike and Steeple Shadow Way is on the north side of Knoxville.
Authorities are still trying to determine the cause of the accident.
