On or about Thursday, January 28th, 2022, a serious accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 49-year-old man. Troopers from the ASP said the accident was reported along State Highway 24 just outside Moulton in Lawrence County, Alabama.
Police officers said 49-year-old Norman G. Barnes was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly slammed into the pickup truck he was driving on Highway 24. Emergency responders pronounced Barnes dead a short time after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if he died at the scene or after being rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about eight miles east of Moulton, which is situated about 83 miles northwest of Birmingham.
Police are still looking into the cause of the accident.
