Details:
On or about Friday, March 18th, 2022, around 3:00 in the morning, a serious accident between a passenger vehicle and a police patrol vehicle sent a police officer to the hospital. Law enforcement representatives from the area said the accident was reported along Hidalgo Street in Houston, Texas.
Authorities from the Houston Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified officer was injured when a vehicle allegedly slammed into a police patrol vehicle that had stopped the scene of a previous accident. Paramedics transported the police officer to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries stemming from the accident.
Officers have since said the driver of the vehicle that hit the patrol vehicle may have been under the influence at the time of the collision.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance southwest of downtown Houston.
Police are still investigating the collision.
