Details:
On or about Thursday, April 28th, 2022, sometime in the morning hours, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an 18-wheeler left two men dead. Spokespeople from the TSP said the accident was reported along Interstate 40 in Smith County, Tennnessee.
Representatives from the Tennessee State Police said 37-year-old Erisbel Cruz Cid and 30-year-old Omar Sosa De La Cruz were killed when the tractor-trailer they were in allegedly slammed into the back of another semi truck that had stopped or slowed in traffic along I-40. Emergency responders pronounced Cid and Cruz dead a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 40 cuts east and west through Smith County.
