On or about Thursday, November 4th, 2021, a major accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer sent one individual to the hospital and resulted in 70 charges and citations for a truck driver. Law enforcement representatives said the accident was reported at the intersection of Club House Drive and Thanksgiving Way in Lehi, Utah.
Officers said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was rushed to the hospital after the car they were in was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer at the intersection of Club House Drive and Thanksgiving Way. After the accident the tractor-trailer fled the scene. Paramedics transported one person in the passenger vehicle to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries stemming from the accident.
Police tracked down the driver of the tractor-trailer, identified as 45-year-old Jeremy Vaughn about a quarter mile from the scene of the initial accident. Vaughn currently faces upwards of 70 charges, including driving under the influence with personal injury, six counts of defective braking action, ten counts of failure to secure loose cargo, and nearly 50 vehicle related infractions.
Officials are still investigating.
