On or about Tuesday, December 14th, 2021, sometime in the nighttime hours, an accident between a pedestrian and a box truck sent one individual to the hospital in a helicopter. Officials from the MSP said the accident was reported along Highway 34 just outside Barnesville in Clay County, Minnesota.

Troopers from the Minnesota State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was seriously hurt when they were hit by a passing box truck as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of Highway 34. Emergency responders airlifted the victim to a hospital with serious injuries stemming from the accident.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 10 miles east of Barnesville, which is situated about 209 miles northwest of downtown Minneapolis.

Police are still investigating.
