On or about Monday, May 24th, 2021, around 11:09 in the morning, an accident between a box truck and a car sent one individual to the hospital. Troopers from the VSP said the accident happened along U.S. Highway 501 near the exchange with Route 917 in Campbell County, Virginia.
Police said one as-of-yet unidentified person was seriously hurt when a box truck and a car collided under unknown conditions. Paramedics airlifted one person from the car to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the box truck was uninjured in the accident.
According to Google Maps, the exchange of Highway 501 and Route 917 is situated a short distance south of Lynchburg.
