Details:
On or about Tuesday, January 4th, 2022, around 12:45 in the afternoon, a serious head-on accident between a passenger vehicle and a box truck sent one individual to the hospital. Representatives from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along State Highway 242 at or near the intersection with Northcrest Trail just outside New Caney in Montgomery County, Texas.
Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was rushed to the hospital when the Ford Focus they were in was allegedly struck by a box truck that failed to yield while turning across traffic. Emergency responders cut the woman in the car free of the wreckage and rushed her to nearby Kingwood Hospital where she was being treated for injuries of an unspecified nature or severity. Officials did not mention any other injuries stemming from the incident in their initial statement.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from New Caney, which is about 32 miles north of downtown Houston.
Police are still working to pin down the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
