On or about Monday, July 12th, 2021, around 5:00 in the morning, a hit-and-run accident between a pedestrian and a box truck sent one individual to the hospital. Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Department said the accident happened along Highway 26 in Hillsboro, Oregon.

Troopers from the Oregon State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified pedestrian was injured when they were allegedly hit by a passing box truck as they were walking along or trying to cross Highway 26 near the exchange with Brookwood Parkway. Paramedics transported the pedestrian to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries after the incident. Police are still trying to track down the box truck, which fled the scene before authorities arrived.

According to Google Maps, Highway 26 runs east and west along the northern edge of Hillsboro, which is situated about 16 miles east of Portland.

Police are still working to pin down the cause of the accident.
