Details:
On or about Wednesday, April 28th, 2021, around 6:15 in the evening, an accident between a box truck and a tractor-trailer sent one person to the hospital. Officers from the area said the accident happened along the southbound side of Interstate 294 in Oak Brook, Illinois.
Spokespeople from the ISP said one person was seriously injured when the box truck they were driving allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer on the southbound side of the interstate. Emergency responders cut the box truck driver out of the wreckage and rushed him to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured in the crash.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 294 runs north and south along the eastern edge of Oak Brook, which is about 19 miles east of downtown Chicago.
Police hope to release more information at a later date.
