Details:
On or about Thursday, December 30th, 2021, sometime in the morning hours, a serious single-vehicle car accident sent one individual to the hospital. Investigators from the LPD said the accident was reported along Highway 83 not far from the intersection with Santa Barbara Street in Laredo, Texas.
Officers from the Laredo Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was taken to the hospital when the vehicle they were in allegedly drove off the side of the road and crashed under unspecified circumstances. Officials indicated the vehicle may have collided with a utility pole a short distance off the pavement, but did not elaborate further. Paramedics transported the driver of the car to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unknown nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Highway 83 and Santa Barbara Street is on the south side of Laredo.
Police are still working to determine exactly what happened in the crash.
