On or about Thursday, January 6th, 2022, around 10:59 at night, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a polce patrol vehicle sent one individual to the hospital. Authorities from the EPPD said the accident was reported along the westbound side of Interstate 10 near the exchange with Sunland Park Drive in El Paso, Texas.
Investigators said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when the car they were in allegedly crashed into a police patrol vehicle that was tending to scene of a previous tractor-trailer accident. Emergency responders transported the driver of the car to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unknown nature or severity. No police were in the patrol vehicle at the time of the accident, and no other injuries were reported.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the northwest side of El Paso.
Authorities are still working to pin down all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
