On or about Friday, January 29th, 2022, sometime in the hours after dark an accident between a passenger vehicle and loose livestock sent one individual to the hospital. Law enforcement spokespeople from the area said the accident was reported along Highway 79 just outside Henderson in Rusk County, Texas.

Local authorities said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the passenger vehicle allegedly collided with livestock that had broken free and were standing in the roadway. Emergency responders transported one person in the car to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from Henderson, which is situated roughly 136 miles southeast of downtown Dallas.
