Details:
On or about Friday, January 14th, 2022, sometime in the hours after dark, an accident between a pickup truck and a police patrol vehicle left one individual dead. Authorities from the area said the accident was reported along State Highway 334 in Henderson County, Texas.
Deputies from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when the pickup truck they were in allegedly attempted to make a turn on Highway 334 and struck a police patrol vehicle that was on the way to an emergency call with lights and sirens active. Emergency responders transported the driver of the pickup truck to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, Henderson County is about 81 miles southeast of downtown Dallas.
Police have said they believe alcohol played a role in the crash.
Officials are still investigating.
