On or about Thursday, December 30th, 2021, around 9:34 at night, a serious two-vehicle car accident sent one individual to the hospital. Representatives from the LCSO said the accident was reported along South Loop 289 not far from the intersection with Memphis Avenue in Lubbock, Texas.
Spokespeople from the Lubbock Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when a passenger vehicle and a pickup truck collided under unspecified circumstances on Loop 289. After the initial accident, the pickup truck allegedly veered off the side of the roadway and crashed into a fence a short distance off the pavement, while the other vehicle rolled off the side of Loop 289. Paramedics transported one person from the scene to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries. Police did not say which vehicle the victim was in at the time of the collision.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of South Loop 289 and Memphis Avenue is situated on the southwest side of Lubbock.
