On or about Sunday, April 24th, 2022, sometime in the evening hours, an accident between a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle sent one person to the hospital. Representatives from the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along Commerce Street in Harlingen, Texas.
Law enforcement officials from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when they were allegedly hit by a vehicle as they were riding their bike alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of Commerce Street. Paramedics transported the cyclist to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, Commerce Street winds north and south through Harlingen.
Officials are still investigating the incident.
