On or about Tuesday, March 29th, 2022, around 9:42 in the morning, an accident at a construction site sent one person to the hospital. Deputies from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along Rio Grande Street in Austin, Texas.
Local authorities said one as-of-yet unidentified construction worker was injured when they were struck by a portion of collapsing building at the burned out Texas French Bread Bakery. Paramedics transported the construction worker to the hospital with unknown injuries after the accident. Officials did not mention any other injuries.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the incident is a short distance north of downtown Austin.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
