On or about Monday, June 21st, 2021, around 7:00 in the morning, an accident between a car and a construction truck sent one person to the hospital with serious injuries. Troopers from the DSP said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Route 1 in Townsend, Delaware.
Investigators said an as-of-yet unidentified 24-year-old man was injured when their car allegedly slammed into the back of a construction truck on the side of southbound Route 1. Emergency responders cut the victim from the wreckage and rushed them to the hospital with unknown injuries after the accident. Authorities did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, Route 1 runs north and south through Townsend, which is about 22 miles north of downtown Dover.
State and local law enforcement agencies assisted in the investigation.
