On or about Sunday, June 19th, 2022, around 10:00 in the morning, an accident with an alleged drunk driver sent one person to the hospital. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Interstate 69 in Montgomery County, Texas.
Local law enforcement representatives said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when the vehicle they were in was allegedly struck head-on by a vehicle that was driving the wrong direction on Grand Parkway. Emergency responders transported the driver of the vehicle driving the correct direction to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
Officials identified the driver of the other vehicle as 22-year-old Ronaldo Lopez, who has since been charged with intoxication assault in connection with the accident.
Authorities are still examining the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
