On or about Thursday, November 18th, 2021, around 1:45 in the morning, a serious accident with a suspected drunk driver sent one person to the hospital. Authorities said the accident was reported along the Gulf Freeway near Beltway 8 in Houston, Texas.
Authorities said one as-of-yet unidentified woman was injured when the car she was driving allegedly slammed into a police patrol vehicle and another car at the scene of a previous accident along the Gulf Freeway. Emergency responders transported the driver of the car to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries after the accident. Police said the driver may face charges of intoxication assault in connection with the incident.
According to Google Maps, the exchange of Gulf Freeway and Beltway 8 is on the southeast side of Houston.
Police are still investigating the incident.
