On or about Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021, an accident between a pickup truck and an alleged drunk driving accident sent one individual to the hospital with serious injuries. Law enforcement spokespeople said the two-vehicle accident was reported on Texoma Parkway at the intersection with Grand Avenue in Sherman, Texas.
Police officers from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when the pickup truck they were in was allegedly struck by another pickup truck that ran a red light at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Texoma Parkway. One person was transported from the scene to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries stemming from the accident. Authorities identified the driver of the other pickup truck as Cody Hutchins, who currently faces charges of intoxication assault in connection with the accident.
According to Google Maps, Sherman is about 65 miles north of downtown Dallas.
Officials are still examining the factors that contributed to the accident.
