On or about Tuesday, February 1st, 2022, sometime in the morning hours, an accident between a dump truck and a pickup truck sent one individual to the hospital. Deputies from the Coryell County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along U.S. Highway 190 in Copperas Cove, Texas.
Law enforcement sources said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when a dump truck allegedly struck the pickup truck they were in as they were attempting a turn along Highway 190. After the initial collision, the dump truck veered off the road and struck a utility pole a short distance off the pavement. Paramedics transported the driver of the pickup truck to the hospital with unknown injuries.
According to Google Maps, Copperas Cove is about 67 miles north of downtown Austin.
Police are still investigating the accident.
