One Injured in Dump Truck Accident on Highway 52 in Irvine

On or about Thursday, November 5th, 2020, an accident between a car and a dump truck sent one individual to the hospital by helicopter. Officials indicated the accident happened along State Highway 52 in Irvine, Kentucky.

Troopers from the KSP said one as-of-yet unidentified person was seriously injured when the car they were in allegedly struck the back of a dump truck for unknown reasons. First responders freed the victim from the car before they were taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital. The driver of the dump truck was reportedly unhurt.

Google Maps shows Highway 52 is two lanes, with a shared turn lane dividing north southbound traffic. The highway cuts through the center of Irvine, which is situated about 46 miles southwest of Lexington.

Deputies from the Estill County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of the accident to aid in the investigaiton.
