On or about Monday, November 9th, 2020 around 3:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a pedestrian and a dump truck sent one individual to the hospital. Police said the accident happened at the intersection of Meadow Street and South Street in Ithaca, New York.

Law enforcement spokespeople said one as-of-yet unidentified person was injured when they were allegedly struck by a dump truck. Officials did not clarify where the victim was standing when they were hit, but did cite the dump truck driver following the accident.

Paramedics transported the victim to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Looking at the intersection of Meadow and South on Google Streetview shows that Meadow is four lanes that run north and south, while South Street runs east and west with two lanes. The intersection is governed by a stoplight. Ithaca is located about 56 miles south of Syracuse.

Police are still investigating.
