Details:
On or about Thursday, December 9th, 2021, around 2:30 in the morning, a hit-and-run accident between a dump truck and a pedestrian sent a man to the hospital with serious injuries. Local law enforcement personnel said the accident was reported along Park Avenue in East Hartford, Connecticut.
Police officers said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when a dump truck allegedly struck a pedestrian that was walking near or trying to cross the roadway on Park Avenue. The dump truck left the scene after the accident. Emergency responders transported the pedestrian to a nearby hospital with serious injuries stemming from the incident.
Authorities have since tracked down the alleged hit-and-run driver, who is cooperating with police.
Officials are still examining the factors that may have contributed to the incident.
