On or about Tuesday, August 24th, 2021, around 9:17 in the morning, an accident between a car and a dump truck hauling rocks sent a woman to the hospital. Officials from the area said the accident was reported in the 600 block of North Cody Road in LeClarie, Iowa.
Local law enforcement personnel said an as-of-yet unidentified woman was seriously injured when a rock allegedly fell from the back of a dump truck and slammed through her windshield. Emergency responders rushed her to a nearby hospital before she was airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals with serious injuries.
According to Google Maps, North Cody Road is situated not far from the banks of the Mississippi River.
Police are still investigating the accident.
