On or about Monday, October 4th, 2021, around 3:00 in the morning, an accident between a dump truck and a tractor-trailer sent one person to the hospital. Representatives from the VSP said the accident was reported along the westbound side of Interstate 64 in James City County, Virginia.

Virginia State Police officials said one as-of-yet unidentified truck driver was injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly struck the dump truck they were driving. Officials indicated the tractor-trailer driver may have taken their eyes off the road before the collision. Paramedics transported the driver of the dump truck to the hospital with unspecified injuries after the accident.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 64 cuts through the northern side of Jams City County, which is about 53 miles north of Norfolk.

Police are still investigating.
